Bariatric Surgery: case presentation

Bariatric surgery, also known as weight-loss surgery and metabolic surgery is a proven and effective treatment for severe obesity and its related comorbidities, such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and cardiovascular diseases. This presentation will cover the most common surgical procedures, including R-Y gastric bypass, one Anastomoses gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and many new procedures,highlighting their mechanisms, benefits, and potential risks. We will also discuss the criteria for patient selection, the importance of multidisciplinary care, and long-term postoperative management.
